Public Domain Footage is media that is not protected by copyright. This footage usually relate to older works published before 1923 where the copyright has expired. If a title was published before 1964 did not have its copyright renewed, that is also considered public domain. Government produced movies are usually public domain as well and a popular source for documentary and independent filmmakers.
