16mm Picture Film Leader for Sale
You'll always need 16mm film leader for editing and projecting your movies. Film leaders are available in single perforations (sound film) and double perforationss (picture film) and in rolls of different lengths, ranging from 100 ft to 1000 ft.
Film editors splice on the head of the first picture frame of their movie work print to a SMPTE Universal leader which shows a countdown of numbers. Projectionists use these to focus before the movie starts. Editors also use this leader (also known as academy leader) to help them sync picture film with magnetic sound film during post production.
SMPTE Universal leaders are sort of difficult to find online but blank film leaders work just as well and easy to mark on. You can find plenty of blank film leaders available for sale in online auctions for a good bargain price. They come in a variety of colors and length rolls.
